Pick Your Poison! Back Massages to Suit You
Nothing is worse than waking up, getting out of bed, and feeling a familiar tightening across your back. You slept either funny or you over did it the day before, and now your muscles are riddled with knots and twists. Sure, you could take an ibuprofen, or even a stronger muscle relaxant, but nothing quite gets the knots out like a back massage. There is a variety of types and each has its own healing affect.

No matter how well you keep your home, you are going to have to worry about a bug or two getting in on occasion. A ladybug here and there may not bother you too much, but a line of ants going from your living room to your kitchen may be a bit too much to ignore. Ants are not the only insects that could invade your home. When the time comes to deal with such a matter, you have to think about indoor pest control. Some things you can deal with on your own, and other times, you may have [...]

There is no way to cure heart disease
If there were a way to cure heart disease, whichever drug company developed it would instantly become one of the biggest companies in the world. Heart disease is so deadly, so prevalent, and growing so rapidly, that the ability to cure heart disease is the holy grail of medicine.
Of course, that doesn’t prevent people from claiming to have cured it. Some web sites say that green tea, organic food and a steady diet of supplements can cure heart disease. Others – many, many thousands of others under the guise of “holisitic” medicine – [...]

Colitis Disease and Treatment
The first thing to understand about colitis disease is that it’s a disease of your gastrointestinal system. In other words, it’s a disease that’s at least partially caused by – or at least effected by – what you eat. If you’re eating crappy food, you’re more likely to suffer from colitis disease. That’s a simple fact, and it’s one that you best understand right from the beginning.
Technically, colitis disease is an inflammation of the colon. The colon is the very final part of the digestive system in humans. It’s what absorbs water and salt before solid waste [...]

If you are experiencing abdominal pain…
If you’re experiencing abdominal pain, there’s a good chance that you need to see a doctor in order to get yourself straightened out. Abdominal pain can be an indicator of any number of maladies, from the benign (overeating) to the malignant (stomach cancer). The key in determining what is causing your abdominal pain is to note its frequency, its location, its severity and any other specifics you can note about it.
Scientifically speaking, the abdomen is the area from your pelvic bone to the bottom of the ribs. This includes your stomach, bowels, liver, gall bladder [...]

One of the most important aspects of your daily grooming regimen involves cleaning your choppers. This really goes without saying. And yet so many people all over the world fail to do a stand-up job at brushing and flossing their teeth. What’s up with this? We Americans redundantly mock the British for having poor oral hygiene.
Fortunately, for everyone there are new-age solutions. I’m talking about contemporary methods of scrubbing the pearly whites and getting them truly clean. One way to accomplish this is with an electronic toothbrush such as the Sonic complete. What’s on your bathroom sink?
So there I was, [...]

Abuse Against Women is Unacceptable in Any Form
This is one of those subjects that until the last twenty years was practically taboo and no one would talk about it. In 1984, NBC aired The Burning Bed starring the late Farrah Fawcett as a movie of the week feature. The response to this movie based on the non-fiction book by Faith McNulty was phenomenal. Abused women came out of the closet literally and women’s shelters and abuse hotlines opened up around the country.
The Burning Bed tells a universal story of abuse against women. It is the story of Michigan housewife Francine [...]

In today’s world, many people are expected to be available 24/7, either by their bosses, friends, or family members. Thanks to the internet, cell phones, e-mail, text messages, Skype, and a whole host of other technological wonders, you’re always connected and always just a simple data packet away from being called in to work to deal with an emergency or to check out the newest, hottest club in the city with your buddies. When you’re constantly on the go like this, it stands to reason that there are some days when you just have zero energy and feel like you’re [...]

I got the call from the school last week. “Please come and fetch J. He’s got head lice.”
He’d complained of having an itchy scalp at breakfast that morning, but I’m ashamed to admit it didn’t occur to me that my son had an infestation.
We went straight from the school to the pharmacy, and there we stood in the lice treatment section, contemplating the options.
There was no sign of Gambex, the lice shampoo containing the toxic insecticide lindane or gamma benzene hexachloride, which has featured in this column several times since 11-year-old Lachlan van Rensburg’s mother told me how [...]
